Last week, Dave Senjem officially filed for re-election to the Minnesota State Senate. Senjem is seeking a sixth term representing District 25, which includes portions of Dodge and Olmsted counties.
“I love this area and I love this state. I believe in public service, and this is my way of giving back to the communities that have given me so much. It is truly a privilege to serve at the People’s House,” said Senjem. “We have accomplished a tremendous amount, but there is still is work to do. I’m asking the people of Dodge and Olmsted counties for their continued trust and support as their state senator. I promise I will continue serving with dignity and respect.”
Senjem was elected to the Minnesota State Senate in 2002. During his tenure, Senjem has become known as an advocate for the Rochester area and was instrumental in securing funding for Destination Medical Center. He currently serves as chair of the Senate Capital Investment Committee, where he oversees billions in state investments across the state. Senjem previously served on the Rochester City Council.
Senjem retired in 2005 after 44 years as an environmental affairs officer at Mayo Clinic. He and his wife live in Rochester. They have two grown children.
